Dr. Porter completed her medical degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Escuela Luis Razetti in Distrito Capital, Venezuela. She then completed her family medicine residency at UTMB School of Medicine at Galveston. Growing up, Dr. Porter knew she wanted to make a difference in peoples’ lives and this inspired her to pursue a career in medicine.
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Porter is dedicated to caring for and treating the whole family, from pediatric to geriatric patients. Patients see her for acute and chronic conditions such as wellness visits, cold and flu symptoms, upper respiration infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, skin procedures, well-woman exams and more. Dr. Porter has a special interest in treating chronic conditions, administering knee injections and providing adolescent and women’s care.
She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians (TAFP). She is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Porter’s goal is to be the best doctor she can be, by listening to all of her patients’ concerns and having their best interests at heart. She makes sure her patients understand they are a team, and they will be making decisions about their health together.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Porter enjoys playing the piano, swimming and spending time with her loved ones.
